Military Satellite Tracker — Defense and Reconnaissance Satellites

Military satellites provide critical capabilities for national defense including communications, missile warning, weather observation, navigation, and reconnaissance. The United States, Russia, China, and other spacefaring nations maintain extensive fleets of defense satellites in various orbits from low Earth orbit to geostationary.

The Defense Meteorological Satellite Program (DMSP) has provided weather data for military operations since the 1960s. Other publicly tracked defense assets include Space Based Infrared System (SBIRS) satellites for missile detection, Wideband Global SATCOM (WGS) for military communications, and various classified payloads launched by the National Reconnaissance Office (NRO).

This tracker shows publicly cataloged military satellites with their orbital elements from the NORAD catalog. While some classified payloads are not included in public catalogs, hundreds of defense satellites are tracked openly and displayed here.
